Chinese Visa - 22/05/2009

European Union citizens planning to travel to China should be aware that they require a visa in order to enter China. European Citizens who wish to travel to the People's Republic must first obtain a visa from the proper embassy.

A stay of less than 3 months in Hong Kong does not require a visa. We recommend consulting the website of China's Embassy to find out whether or not you need a visa.

Within the classification of visas for travel to China, if the total stay will be less than or equal to 3 months, you should choose the type L or tourist visa, the L type validity of the visa of one or two entries is normally 3 months, and length of stay in China is usually 30 days. Those who require more time for both the validity of the visa and the duration of stay have to clearly indicate it on the application form.

The following is a list of required documents according to visa type:

Tourist visa: completed visa application, a photo ID card, original passport, hotel reservation in China and plane ticket to return.

Business visa: completed visa application, a photo ID card, passport, and original notice countersigned by authorized entity china, hotel reservation in China and plane ticket back and forth.
